Trendy: Fall 2014: Cuts and Shapes

Fashion is constantly changing. Designers are always looking for ways to switch up looks, make new styles to create new trends. I mean there are only so many colors to use, and no matter how many prints or patterns they come up with, putting it on the same pieces of clothing will become boring a monotonous. Therefore, to change up the looks and styles these talented designers come up with new ways to shape and cut their clothing. Lets take a look at whats being seen for this upcoming fall season:

The cropped pants are coming into style for this season, according to several runway sightings from several designers. This MSGM look was paired with another trend – the baggy sweater – and also ANOTHER trend – sneakers.

In this Burberry Prorsum look, you’ll see an example of the thigh high slit thats been added to this season despite all the layering and bundling we’ve been seeing. It still gives us the sexy feel we should feel confident in and I think it looks gorgeous.

This is one I really like.. focus on the pants – the baggy top slimming down to the ankle. Its something like harem pants.. its so comfortable but also so stylish. Pair with heels or sandals and they look awesome. (FYI, this thursday you’ll see one of my favorite runway shows of this year that includes this look.. Alexandre Vauthier)

This coat/cardigan from Akris shows a common cut shown all over the runways for this season. Makes it look like a huge blanket with sleeves – i think its super cute.

This blazer/jacket shows some funky sleeves right? Ive never seen this before.. its like a slit on the sleeves. A different variation from the common slit on skirts and dresses. This look comes from the Alexandre Herchcovitch show for fall 2014.

This is something we’ve been season throughout past seasons as well – the front of the skirt being higher than the back. Its followed us into the fall season as well. I like how Antonio Berardi took advantage of how we can see the inside of the dress with this type of cut and he did a different color for a neat contrast (color blocking!)

Anya Hindmarch also continued a trend from spring – a dress with a fitted upper half and a flared bottom half. I think it makes for a really girly feel and can be dressed up and dressed down, depending on how you accessorize & what shoes you match it with!

Tune in next Tuesday for more trend alerts 😉
